Lost my simile program in a computer upgrade.

I purchased the Standard version of Simile 5.0.3.32  around 2008. Recently, I lost my program in a hardware upgrade. What will it cost to upgrade it to the latest version.

Thanks,

Dan Campbell

Availability of Configuration files in Model Gallery

I have been looking at some of the models in the Mondel Gallry to learn more about certain aspects of Simile. I notice that the ones I have looked at include the .sml files, but not the associated .shf files. Are these available somewhere on the website? One model I have look at is the animal1.sml model.

Simile 6.4

Release notes

Creating new release to see if it adds the version number to the options available for reporting issues

variable set as int gets reset to real

I have defined a variable as being a variable parameter with a range of 0 to 10 and having units of int. If I set the initial value (in the box below) to 0, when I save the equation and go back in, I see that the units have been changed to real. If I keep everything the same, but set the initial value to 1, the units stay as int. What gives? (using 6.4 on a Mac)

Numbers change when use Edit as Table

I have been trying to use the Edit as table function for a graphical function. When I enter a number such as 22 for the value, hit ok, and then hit Edit as table again, I see that the number has change, if only slightly, to 22.029, or in another case to 21.9807. What is going on?

Sincerely, Dale

Errors restoring data tables

Almost every time I save a .shf file that includes a Data Table helper, I get an error indicating "A software error occurred while attempting to restore the I/O tool "Data table" from the saved setup."  When I click on more details, I get the information below. Any thoughts?

Sincerely, Dale S Rothman

p.s. I am using v6.4 on a Mac, but that choice was not available under Version.

Simile version 6.4 released

The latest version of Simile corrects yet more minor problems and inconveniences, and introduces some new features.

Helpers in IOTools directory do not appear in run model environment

I was trying to figure out how to initialize a random-number generator, but ran into trouble when I could not find it in the run-time environment when I looked under the Add menu in the run-time environment. I looked at various help pages, which lead me to to IOTools folder. There I see a tool called Setrand.tcl, which I assume is what I am looking for. How do I get this to appear in my list of available tools? I am running a v6.3p2 standard, 64-bit on a Mac running Yosemite. I also see some other tools that are also not appearing in the run-time environment list.

Thanks, Dale

50% off for Linux users!

Simile's Linux version has all the functionality of the Windows and Mac versions, and is easier to support, since several of the tools on which Simile is built have a Linux heritage. All saved models, parameter files and visualization setups are fully compatible between Linux and other OS versions. However, we have relatively few Linux customers.
