Simulistics

I've a student attempting an analysis of spatial interactions between trees, using a total of 20636 observations. This causes some problems. You can see for yourself by creating a csv file with 20636 random numbers, and attempting to read them into a variable with the table feature. Is there a limit on the size of tables - or a work around this challenge? Simile 5.6 on WinXP.

 [introduction cut] I find it is very difficult to click on the outline of the submodel accurately enough to be able to resize the window. I have tried snapping to grid which helps a little, but it is still a bit intermittent. It would be nice if this were made slightly easier in future releases (or is there an option box somewhere to type in the height and width of the box?)

I am having issues when I try to load Geotiffs. I have tried using a fixed or variable parameter type, and I have also tried defining a 2d array in the equation box, but whenever I try to load the values in, I get a number of errors, one of which is that /node00000/var2 at indices 0 the following problem occurred: Missing value (this repeats at various indices through the data). Also there are other errors about 0 appearing twice as time. The data is just meant to be loaded in as a 2-d array, it is not supposed to change through time. Do you know what the issue is?

I recently the downloaded Smilie V5.6 Evaluation Edition for windows.  I am running under Windows 7 Professional on a HP laptop. 

Similie cannot start, and shows "Error in startup script",and the log is following:

Hello!

I recently the downloaded V5.6 demo version for windows.  I am running under XP Professional service pack 3 on a Dell laptop. 

Similie starts, shows the "splash screen", and then quits.  When I run task manager, I can see a process running for simile.exe, but no application.

Any help would be appriciated.
