Problems with the "storing data table" helper

I'm in the process of finalizing the model I've been working on for my dissertation and the "storing data table" tool isn't working properly. I am using version 3.0 When I click on the + symbol to add a variable and then click on the variable to add, the selected variable no longer is added to the table. This happened once last week and then it started working again. Now I have the same problem again. Can anyone suggest what I ought to try to solve this problem? I just now discovered that it will work again after having reset the model to zero. However, this is not helpful if I wish to let the model run and record data at the end of the run.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Doug,

It sounds like some files have been corrupted. Try checking your hard disks for errors with the fix option turned on. The next thing to do would be to reinstall Simile.

Doug: the above suggestion may solve your problem, but I know that there were substantial revisions to the table display both between versions 3.0 and 3.1 and between 3.1 and 3.2. I haven't heard of this quirky behaviour before, but it is possible you've stumbled on a bug in the earliest version.

If you are using the evaluation edition of 3.0, I'd strongly advise to upgarde to the latest Simile v3.3. If you have obtained Simile through the CIFOR programme, then please contact me (alastair@simulistics.com) to discuss an upgrade, in whole or of just the table display.

Significant changes were made to the table display in order to increase its speed, and flexibility, and to allow tables to be saved to files.

Kind regards,
