Moving submodels?

I have a problem trying to move submodels. In the help file
there is an entry for a toolbar button that is supposed to exist:
"Using a submodel to move blocks of model elements around", with a "hand" tool.

However, that button is not present in the toolbar of Simile4.4 for MacOS X.
I can only count 16 tools in total, the 4 rightmost being
the Text tool, Select tool, Ghost tool and Inspect tool ....

Does anyone else observe this/ know a workaround?

Cheers!

Hi,

In version 4 the Move tool is no longer required. To move a submodel choose the arrow tool (Select components tool) and click on the submodel envelope or caption to select the submodel. Then drag the submodel (with the arrow inside the submodel) still using the arrow tool.

You can move individual variables, flow, compartments in the same way but by dragging the variable symbol.

To move a collection of model elements there is no longer a need to wrap them in a temporary submodel. With the arrow tool drag a selection box over the elements you want to move to select them (they will turn blue with the default colour coding). You can then drag the collection of selected elements by dragging any one of them.

Cheers, Jonathan.

In addition to being useful for moving the submodels themselves, the hand tool was also nice to be able to "move" the grid background of the mdoel window and therefore allow you to quickly change your view in a large model. Rather than zooming out, re-positioning, and zooming in, you could just "move" the gridpaper over to the area of the model you were using. Hard to explain this in words, but I do miss this functionality.
